About this project :
This short project served as an introduction to Unreal Engine 5 and was good practice for my Level Design skills.
I was provided with a functioning avatar and various scripts for enemies, loot collection and weapons alongside a terrain to start from. Everything else, including the animations (for the gates), certain interactions, the patrol-points or the Navmesh generation had to come from me. This allowed me to focus solely on the Level Design.

My process :
I started by sculpting and carving out the terrain until it matched my needs. I then placed the landmark structure (tower) and created a path to that tower. I then added ennemies and loot along that path. After that, I expanded the level beyond the tower, with a drop-down, a maze, all the way to the end of the level and the final objective.
Small dialogues were added to give context to the player. Throughout all this, the level was extensively playtested and the subsequent feedback helped improve it.

At the end of the 3 days, maps made by several students, including mine, were added to a multiplayer build made by the teacher. This allowed us to test the maps together and gave us a new perspective on our levels.
